Truck Driver

Job Summary

Bylers Building Supply is seeking a dedicated and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a CDL and possess Moffett forklift operating skills. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for delivering materials from our warehouse to customer building sites efficiently and safely. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the secure transport of goods, maintaining respectful interactions with customers, and adhering to vehicle safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport materials from warehouse to customer building sites.
  • Operate Moffett forklift to load and unload materials as needed.
  • Ensure all loads are securely strapped and/or tarped before departure.
  • Maintain open and clear communication with warehouse staff and customers.
  • Respectfully handle customer property and delivered items.
  • Assist with loading truck when feasible to expedite the process.
  • Demonstrate efficient time management to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and report any issues promptly.
  • Collect payment from customers for delivered materials unless instructed otherwise.
  • Capture and upload photos of delivered materials to company cloud management software.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL with clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in operating a Moffett forklift.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Respectful and professional demeanor towards customers and company property.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
  • Strong time management skills to adhere to delivery schedules.
  • Attention to detail in securing loads and completing paperwork accurately.
  • Willingness to undergo drug screenings and background checks as required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends and overtime hours as needed.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in truck driving or delivery role.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and industry standards.
  • Additional certifications related to forklift operation or vehicle maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using electronic logging devices (ELDs) for recording driving hours.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
